We (motorized two-wheelers) have been called upon to spend a weekend to watch over bicyclists pedaling their hearts out in raising money to aid those stricken with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We will lend aid and watch over the hundreds of cyclists as they thread they way around Chandler as they fulfil their weekend 150 mile commitment on narrow, 2 lane roads. Last year, John and I were posted to provide directions at a difficult intersection and provide encouragement. Our loud, orange safety vests were also an alert to drivers of something happening and to be aware.
They like to have two people stationed at a post, so spouses are more than welcome. As volunteers we are awarded with the same privileges as those bicycling the event, as a place to stay Saturday night, snacks and meals. Mr. Mack will be in touch for all the details.
Should you wish to assist, are not busy on the either Saturday OR Sunday (or both days) of September 21 & 22, the local motorcycle safety coordinator for this year’s ride would love to hear from you. (He informed me they need more Volunteers for Saturday).
